“Not a day went by that we didn’t tell each other how much we love each other”: After Meat Loaf’s death, his family struggles with the sudden loss.
The family of US singer Meat Loaf («I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)») commented on the death of the rock legend with moving words.
“The sadness of the loss of my husband is heartbreaking. I was lying close to Michael as he took his last breath, my sadness is indescribable,” the musician’s widow, Deborah Aday, was quoted as saying on Monday on the celebrity portal “People”. According to the report, the couple had been married for almost 15 years. “Not a day went by that we didn’t tell each other how much we love each other. Not a day that we didn’t hug.”
“I love you forever”
The daughters also spoke up at the weekend. Elder daughter Pearl wrote on Instagram: “I love you forever no matter what. I love you with all my heart.” Younger daughter Amanda told People Saturday that her father was a “complex man with a lot of passion who wore his heart on his sleeve.” As an example, she said: «So he would tell you: “Shit, I love you”».
Meat Loaf’s death was announced on Friday. “It breaks our hearts to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight accompanied by his wife Deborah,” the musician’s verified Facebook page said in a statement. His daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him for the past 24 hours.
Cause of death unknown
The cause of death will not be disclosed, his longtime agent Michael Greene told the industry journal Deadline. Born as Marvin Lee Aday in the US state of Texas, the musician was 74 years old. In addition to great successes, he also had to put up with a few setbacks. After his hit album “Bat Out Of Hell” he ruined his voice on a world tour and then struggled with depression and alcohol addiction, among other things.
