Rock Music: BossHoss Singers: In USA die "Sauerkraut Cowboys"

The singer and frontman Sascha Vollmer appreciates the success of his band in Europe. The band has also performed in the USA. Going there for a long time is not an option.

Country rock band The BossHoss say they have “no ambitions to go on a big tour in the US”. That said the singer and frontman Sascha Vollmer (51) aka Hoss Power of the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (Friday). “You would have to live there for two years if you really want to know. We don’t have the time and don’t feel like it.”

The band was in Austin, Texas, in 2012, where the video for “Don’t Gimme That” was made. “At the same time, we played a small club tour there, which was well received. We were, so to speak, the sauerkraut cowboys from Germany for them. At first we were nervous that the audience felt fooled, but they celebrated it.”

Vollmer appreciates the success in Germany, in German-speaking Europe: “We are very grateful that things have been going so well for us for the past 20 years. It is not a matter of course that we have stayed in the market for so long and stayed together in the same constellation are that we still like each other and still think of clever things. I have to pinch myself sometimes that it’s really all true.”
