Despite their long career, the rock icons have yet to win the coveted award. Now they have a new chance.

The Rolling Stones have once again received a nomination at the Brit Awards in their old age. The legendary one Rock band, which released its album “Hackney Diamonds” last year, is nominated in the “Alternative/Rock Act” category, it has been announced. Mick Jagger (80), Keith Richard (80) and Ronnie Wood (76) are competing for the coveted award with the Brit poppers Blur and much younger colleagues Bring Me The Horizon, Young Fathers and Yussef Dayes.

If the Rolling Stones actually win the Brit Award, it would be a first for the rock icons. They were last nominated for “Best British Live Act” in 2013, previously for “Best British Band” in 1977 and for “Best British Video” (“Love Is Strong”) in 1995. Jagger and Co. have never won before. This year the winners of the rock category will be chosen via Instagram.

The US bands Foo Fighters and Blink-182 are top favorites for the “Best International Group of the Year” award. In contrast to the Stones, the Foo Fighters have already won a Brit Award five times.
