Robert Habeck is fighting for his credibility – and that of the Greens – opinion

The Green has achieved a lot in the one and a half years of his tenure as Economics Minister. Whether he can also recommend himself for the job in the Chancellery? His problem: He went where it hurts.

All in all, Robert Habeck has nothing to complain about. The German economy is still growing, at least according to the forecasts of the Green Economics Minister. A mild winter prevented a gas shortage. His major goal, the faster expansion of green electricity, is progressing more easily than expected, and there is surprisingly little resistance even to his floating gas terminals in sensitive coastal waters. Robert Habeck has now been in office for almost a year and a half – and has achieved more than some of his predecessors did in an entire term.
