Robbie Williams: Before the mega concert at the Munich Exhibition Center – Munich

Robbie on stage with Helene? Well that would be a big thing. Even bigger than the gigantic stage at the Munich Exhibition Center itself, which by now almost everyone has probably noticed is the most powerful in Germany, if not in Europe. In any case, Robbie Williams mentioned the possibility of a duet in an interview with a tabloid. Now it’s up to Helene Fischer whether she shows up at the British entertainer’s concert on August 27th. But you shouldn’t count on it. As in general, the expectations in terms of Messe Riem have probably fallen a bit overall. Too big, too wet and too chaotic, these were the reactions after Helene Fischer’s concert. Even if her performance was flawlessly perfect again.

So now Robbie Williams. The show is advertised as “The Greatest Entertainer”. And the former has the fact that he is a born showman who flatters his audience with charm and wit Take That-Singer yes proved in the past 25 years. He also received 18 Brit Awards, more than any other British artist, and 1.6 million tickets for his “Close Encounters Tour” sold in a single day earned him an entry in the Guinness Book in 2006. And as for his role as a heartthrob? Well, if you don’t know, the 48-year-old has been married to Turkish-American actress Ayda Field since 2010. Together they have four children. And that’s probably why he’s been living in California for a few years.

If you then read that the singer is now a passionate golfer, then that sounds relatively settled. At least not after the wild times when he was in the headlines, not least because of drug problems. And at least not that much has actually been heard from him in recent years. Well, there was the Christmas album “The Christmas Present” in 2019, which also featured a duet with Helene Fischer. Which shows that the two know each other. But it’s been a while since the last regular studio album “The Heavy Entertainment Show” from 2016. This was followed by an album called “Under the Radar Volume 2” in 2017 that contained demos, B-sides and rarities. And in 2019 its sequel appeared online with “Under the Radar Volume 3”.

A new best-of album by Robbie Williams will be released in September

A new album, “XXV”, has now been announced for September. An, okay, new “Best-of” with which Williams celebrates his 25-year solo career. Judging from Life Thru a Lens, his debut album as a solo artist, which saw him hit number one in the UK charts in 1997, where it stayed for 147 weeks. That also sounds like a record. What you do hear, however, is that for “XXV” numerous older hits by Jules Buckley, Guy Chambers and Steve Sidwell have been re-orchestrated and recorded in the Netherlands with the Metropole Orkest. The orchestral version of “Angels” is already available online.

And then there are actually completely new songs on “XXV” with “Lost”, “Disco Symphony”, “More Than This” and “The World And Her Mother”. The last three are only available exclusively on the deluxe edition of the album. And that goes well with the concert at the Riem Exhibition Centre. As with Andreas Gabalier and Helene Fischer, there is a “Premium VIP Package” in addition to standing room in the “Bronze”, “Silver”, “Gold” and “Platinum” categories. Includes private parking, a buffet and drinks, and the promised “best view” of the stage where Robbie Williams is celebrating 25 years as a solo artist.

But the native Briton will not do this alone. That means: Maybe Helene Fischer is there. But in any case, Josh Savage and air house be on stage as a supporting act. Josh Savage is an American singer-songwriter who currently lives in Berlin after being in Winchester, Paris and London. He’s made a name for himself through self-publishing, radio and streaming services, but most notably through the countless living room concerts he’s played in America and Europe over the years. Lufthaus may also come from Berlin. That’s not exactly known for the musician-producer trio, who released their debut single, the dance track “Sway,” in February.

That means you already know a little bit more. Because, as also came out in February, none other than, exactly: Robbie Williams lent his voice to the song. And otherwise, two of Williams’ long-term collaborators are behind it, producers Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis. Lufthaus, that was created as a Corona activity that the three of them had kept secret for a long time. And apparently the project seemed like a fountain of youth to the singer. He did the tabloid the star said he wrote 27 new songs in three days.

So Robbie Williams is still good for surprises. And basically you could call that the real sensation. So not the mega-mega-mega. Not that it will be perhaps the biggest show by the biggest entertainer on the biggest stage in Munich. But that he appears with Lufthaus as his own support and thus twice. What? So have we given away the surprise now? oops
