River cruise on the Göta Canal: Sweden like in a picture book – Travel

It creaks and squeaks when you climb the stairs to the upper deck. It creaks and squeaks when you are in the cabin. And outside, on the water, it creaks and squeaks too. That’s because everything on this river trip is really very old. the MS Juno, built in 1874, is the oldest passenger ship in the world where you can stay overnight. The playwright Henrik Ibsen was already aboard the ship, perhaps one would still find his DNA somewhere between the creaking wood paneling in the dining room or the short wooden beds.
