According to the police, there are 7,000 to 8,000 participants on site. The mood was “very aggressive,” said a police spokeswoman. There have been attacks on female and male police officers and some colleagues have been injured. According to information from the rbb, there have also been some arrests.

Residents and supporters had announced protests against the police operation after the evacuation of the car camp. They had declared that they would not be “without a fight” on “Day X”
to give up. There was a call on the Internet to shatter the city on Friday evening. In Hamburg the scene drummed for the solidarity demonstration under the motto “Defendköpi”.

The train started at Hohenstaufenplatz in Kreuzberg and ran over Kottbusser Damm and Reichenbergerstraße. Police spokeswoman Anja Dierschke had told the rbb evening show that they expected a number of participants in the lower four-digit range. 1,600 officers are on duty in the city, the Berlin police are supported by more than 800 police officers from six federal states and the federal police.

On Friday morning, the police had gained access to the premises with heavy equipment. Almost 40 residents and supporters were taken from the site during the evacuation. There were over 20 arrests – including demonstrations around the site. In the evening, the mission was largely over.
