Abba are a phenomenon: the quartet’s career began around 50 years ago. And over the years, the music of the Swedes hasn’t lost any of its radiance. Now vinyl fans get their money’s worth.

Around 50 years after the release of her debut album “Ring Ring”, Abba is releasing an anniversary edition of the album. The Swedish cult band will release the new edition on May 19th in various vinyl formats. This was announced by the music group Universal Music.

According to Universal, Abba released “Ring Ring” on March 26, 1973 only in Scandinavia. Before that, Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad had been involved in other musical projects, but due to the success of the album’s title track – “Ring Ring” – they decided to pursue a permanent path together as a Abba to go.

A year later, the pop group celebrated their international breakthrough with the song “Waterloo”. A world career followed with around 400 million albums sold and hits such as “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia” and “Super Trouper”.
