The young man in the Tiktok video was visibly impressed. Just after thousands of people of all ages and genders were murdered, injured or kidnapped in Israel in the murderous Hamas attacks on October 7th, he praised the successful strike of the “Palestinian resistance” against the Israeli security authorities. He spoke of Israel’s “apartheid”, “racism” and “terror” against the Palestinians and immediately built a bridge to the war in Ukraine. Israel, he claimed, had sent “80 percent of its artillery ammunition” to Ukraine. This is now taking its toll, especially since the conflicts are related. Peace is only possible if “Western universalism and chauvinism” is finally given up and Europe reflects on itself.
