The rent for the Augustinerhof of the Nuremberg real estate investor Gerd Schmelzer is “very high” compared to an ordinary commercial building in the old town center, but in view of the individual tailoring to the needs of the museum and the high-quality new building area in this location – and therefore “plausible” from a market perspective “. This is what one of the experts commissioned by the U-Committee writes in his expertise. The long lease of 25 years is also nothing unusual. It would take almost 29 years to cover the landlord’s costs. Thus, “an economic and non-market-oriented overreaching of the tenants”, i.e. the museum and ultimately the Free State, “cannot be seen”.
