Review: Yuval Noah Harari: “How we humans conquered the world” – culture

The bestselling author Yuval Noah Harari has recently come under heavy criticism. In the non-fiction books “Sapiens” (2013) and “Homo Deus” (2017) he told a short, overarching outline of human history with an outlook on the supposedly imminent fusion of humans and algorithms. He was also accused of this in the SZ, his comparison of humans with animals on the one hand and computers on the other hand encourages a technoid and anti-humanistic ideology, as promoted by some tech entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, among others, who would rather integrate humans into their product ranges as much as possible today rather than tomorrow . Harari was also accused of a whole series of factual errors and a fundamentally sensational attitude: he simply ignores real scientific findings if they do not fit into his narrative.
