Review: The Academy of St Martin in the Fields in Munich – Munich

Adam Fischer loves contrasts: So after the first, otherwise so magical, this time slightly blurry woodwind chords of the overture to William Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Felix Mendelssohn, the elves were allowed to dance again and again with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, but When the rough craftsmen got involved in the action, it became gross motor: loud, bright and massive. It wasn’t charming or elegant and didn’t really do justice to the overall iridescent, iridescent character of this young composer’s stroke of genius.
