Gunman tried to storm FBI office – shot!

In the US state of Ohio, the police apparently prevented a terrorist attack on FBI agents. An armed man tried to break into the FBI office in the city of Cincinnati, population 300,000 – in vain.

Federal police said, “Following activation of an alarm and intervention by armed FBI agents, the individual fled.”

According to media reports, the suspected terrorist fired a nail gun and displayed a semi-automatic rifle before fleeing in a car. He sped off down the highway. A police officer spotted him and gave chase. The assassin fired shots at the officer.

The man got out of the car on a dirt road and confronted the police. The assassin raised his gun in the direction of the officers – and was then shot. There were no other victims.

the “New York Times” reports that the assassin named Ricky Shiffer (42) is probably a radical supporter of ex-US President Donald Trump (76).

Shiffer posted on his social media platform Truth Social: “If you don’t hear from me, I actually tried to attack the FBI. It either means I was taken off the internet, the FBI caught me, or they’ve sent in the regular police now.”

Two days earlier he had called for an armed uprising – and wrote: “Kill the FBI on sight.”

Threats have been sent to FBI agents and agencies across the country in recent days. Trigger: the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The ex-president is suspected of simply taking papers and other documents home after the hectic exit from the White House instead of leaving them to the national archives. Among them could also be secret papers.

Was that why the assassin wanted revenge? In any case, the temporal connection to his online posts is striking. According to Shiffer, he was also involved in the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. Back then, Trump supporters, incited by their idol, tried to prevent the election of Joe Biden (79).

FBI Director Christopher Wray, 55, condemned the threats when he visited a federal police office in Nebraska on Wednesday.

Wray: “Violence against law enforcement is not a solution, no matter who you are angry at.”

The FBI warned its employees to avoid protesters and ensure their security key cards “are not visible outside of FBI premises.” Agents were also warned to be aware of their surroundings and potential protesters.
