Reusable sanitary napkins made in Senegal

The fight against menstrual insecurity is intensifying in Senegal. In this country, 45% of young girls miss classes during their period, according to the association Speak Up Africa. Faced with this, the company ApiAfrique has been manufacturing reusable sanitary napkins since 2016.

With a lifespan of two years, these protections allow them not to go home to change, not to miss sports lessons and to save money. Widening their use would equip young girls who lack information because of the taboo around menstruation. Discover the manufacturing process of these sanitary napkins and how they are used in the video of our partner Brut.
