1:00 a.m.: Purple alert triggered in two hours
The prefect of Reunion Island triggered the red cyclone alert on Sunday at 8 p.m. (5 p.m. in Paris). The island of some 870,000 inhabitants will even go into purple alert this Monday at 6 a.m. (3 a.m. in Paris), synonymous with “imminent danger”. From this moment, the strict confinement of the population will be extended to the emergency and security services, which will no longer be able to circulate until further notice.
