Return of the compulsory mask on the South Atlantic coast and in the city center

Many departments have decided to reinstate the wearing of a mask outdoors. This decision is explained by the increase in the incidence rate linked to the Delta variant of Covid-19.In addition to this, you will need to know more about it. This is particularly the case of the Gironde, where the incidence rate reached according to the prefecture 314 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, against only 40 two weeks ago. To cope with this brutal degradation, the region has therefore decided to apply this restriction in the city center of Bordeaux as well as in the tourist areas of the region, from this Tuesday.

In Gironde, this obligation is accompanied by a ban on the consumption ofalcohol on public roads (excluding authorized terraces) which comes into force on Wednesday, until August 31, in resorts such as Lacanau, Lège-Cap-Ferret or Arcachon. In a press release, the Gironde prefecture also indicates that it will be necessary to cover your nose and mouth on “markets, second-hand goods, queues or collective reception of minors” throughout the department.

On the other hand, the mask will not be necessary in “parks and gardens, natural spaces and on beaches” or in places subject to the sanitary pass.
