Working life ends on the day you retire – and the search for new tasks begins. How to prepare for it and avoid falling into a hole upon retirement.

Gudrun Behm-Steidel loved her job as a professor of information management at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences. “Nevertheless, ten years ago it carried me out of the curve with a burnout,” says the now 62-year-old. It was then that she noticed that the job was costing her too much energy. She decided to look for something that has nothing to do with the university and that she enjoys.
