Residential building in Munich: Four injured in a basement fire – Munich

Four people were injured in a basement fire in a residential building in Forstenried. 13 people had to be rescued using two turntable ladders, including four children, as the fire department announced on Monday night. Numerous residents stood on the balconies of their apartments and called for help. Dark smoke was coming out of the cellar shafts.

On Sunday evening, a resident called the fire department because of heavy smoke in the basement of the nine-story building. When the emergency services arrived, the stairwell was filled with smoke. Three basement compartments were on fire. The emergency services were able to quickly bring the fire under control, they removed smoke from the building with high-performance fans and the residents were able to return to their apartments that evening. The injured were taken to a hospital. The cause of the fire and the amount of property damage were initially unclear.
