A 25-year-old young man was tried on Tuesday before the Saint-Malo court for violence against his eight-month-pregnant spouse, reports West France. The facts took place on February 11 in a town located in the country of Saint-Malo. During a drunken evening at his home, the defendant first got confused several times with a guest before arguing with his companion who was going to sleep. The individual then gave him a headbutt.
Already convicted of domestic violence, the young man explained during the hearing that his gesture was “totally accidental” and that he had “stumbled from a step”. A version which hardly convinced the court which sentenced him to ten months in prison with a probationary reprieve.
