Reporter: inside award: SZ’s Pegasus project honored – media

the Southgerman newspaper was awarded three German reporter awards on Monday evening. That won in the Investigation category Pegasus project, an international research on surveillance software, in which journalists from the SZ and the Time were significantly involved.

For “Into the cold water”, a sports report about the Paralympic swimmer Gina Böttcher in the SZ, was awarded to Thorsten Schmitz. Nicola Meier won the prize for the best report of the year for the text “Over board”, the story of a boat accident off the Greek Mediterranean coast in SZ-Magazin.

At the digital award ceremony, the Belarusian journalist Marina Zolotova received a special prize for “Journalism in a country where every published line can be dangerous,” said moderator Andrea Thilo. Zolotova is editor-in-chief of the tut.by portal and has been imprisoned since May 2021. Further prizes went to the Daily mirror and the Saxon newspaper.

The German Reporter Prize has been awarded since 2009 by the Network Reporter Forum, which has been called the Reporter Forum since March 2021. Since then, the award has also been officially called the Reporter Award.
