US media already suspected a meeting between Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin. Now the signs are increasing. The background could be arms deliveries for the war of aggression against Ukraine.

According to media reports, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may have traveled to the neighboring country for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There are signs that Kim has left Pyongyang on a special train and is on his way to Russia, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported, citing government officials in Seoul. Initially, there was no confirmation from either North Korea or Russia.

US media recently reported, citing officials in the US, that Kim wanted to travel to Russia to negotiate arms deliveries with Putin. Moscow is concerned with securing supplies of weapons and ammunition for the war of aggression against Ukraine.

Kim’s visit could reportedly take place on the sidelines of an economic forum in Vladivostok scheduled for September 10-13. Putin had already met with Kim in the big city on Russia’s Pacific coast in 2019. In July, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited North Korea, where, among other things, he took part in a military parade.
