Report: Found a bug on Cardano node disconnected. But back to normal use

The Cardano network has a small bug at block 8300569 – 8300570. Staking pool provider Rick McCracken explains the bug and stresses that the Cardano network is still safe, but due to this bug, over 50% of nodes are affected. Lost connection and needs to be restarted.

Reference fromTwitterMcCracken revealed that the Cardano network was temporarily down, but it was able to resume. The cause is expected to be caused by an error that occurred on GitHub, causing the network to be temporarily unable to create blocks and stopped for a few minutes. But all nodes are automatically restarted.

Cardano’s Telegram SPO for developers and research team said:

“It is thought to be caused by a malfunction of some of the nodes that have disconnected. The nodes can restart automatically, which is what the Cardano platform was designed for.”

IOG said the impact of this bug is relatively small and will only slow down block generation, while other nodes can still function normally. Previously other platforms like Solana also experienced this issue which took over 48 hours to resolve.
