Barca will not get rid of defender Samuel Umtiti. The French rejected a request from Turkey.
The Turkish top club Fenerbahce asked FC Barcelona about a loan from world champion Samuel Umtiti – but received a rebuff from the player. That reports the Sports. Accordingly, the central defender had signaled no interest in a transfer to Istanbul.
A circumstance that causes resentment among Barca officials, according to the report. Umtiti is one of the top earners in the financially troubled Blaugrana and should definitely be handed in. But he is waiting for a better offer, which is why Barca are “losing patience”.
FC Barcelona: Umiti receives a high salary
Umtiti is said to collect around 13 million euros a year at Barca. The association urgently needs to cut salaries. Among other things, to register 55 million newcomer Ferran Torres. This is currently not possible because Barcelona would otherwise exceed the La Liga salary limit.
