Rents in Munich: Dramatic increase of more than four percent – Munich

Since spring alone, prices have climbed by more than four percent, to more than 20 euros per square meter for old buildings. And the broker association IVD sees plenty of “material for future increases”. The most important numbers at a glance.

Drastic increase in apartment rents in Munich: Last year alone, the costs for a newly rented existing apartment with good living value rose by 4.3 percent, from 18.70 to 19.50 euros per square meter. This emerges from the autumn analysis that the broker association IVD Süd published on Monday. The average prices for old apartments, i.e. those built before 1950, have broken through the 20 euro mark, with a jump from 19.40 to 20.30 euros per square meter (plus 4.6 percent). Rents in new buildings even rose by 5.2 percent to 22.40 euros.
