At the start of the sixth season of “Retiree Cops”, rapper Eko Fresh looks over to Bill Mockridge and Hartmut Volle as a guest star.

From February 15, the “Retiree Cops” Reinhard Bielefelder (Bill Mockridge, 75) and Klaus Schmitz (Hartmut Volle, 69) will return to German TV screens. The sixth season of the entertaining crime series in the first, consisting of twelve new episodes, starts on this date. Right at the beginning, the sprightly police officers welcome a prominent guest star: rapper Eko Fresh (39) embodies the gangster Frankie Schoppe in the episode “Full Speed Ahead”.

Eko Fresh: “I had to kickstart a Mustang”

Season six begins with Bielefelder and Schmitz at the Niehler Hafen in Cologne. A sailor was found dead there under suspicious circumstances. At the scene of the crime, a red Mustang arouses the suspicions of the “pensioner cops”. The sled belongs to convicted crook Frankie Schoppe (Eko Fresh), who has previously been convicted of dealing in cocaine, ketamine and methamphetamine. For Bielefelder and Schmitz, the question arises: is Frankie just a small fish or is there blood on his hands?

In the press release for the ARD series, rapper Eko Fresh raves about working with “Retiree Cops” Mockridge and Volle. They would have convincingly put the gangster character he played through the wringer during interrogation at the police station. With the red Mustang belonging to his role, the musician also had to “kick start” while the “pensioner cops” chased after. “It should look cool […] I got a lot of instructions. But then it worked out quite well,” recalls Eko Fresh.
