Rene Weller is dead: the naked man, the coke and the women

Boxing legend René Weller died after a long illness at the age of 69. The former world and European champion had been suffering from dementia for years, which was probably also a result of his sport. On Instagram, his wife Maria said goodbye with the words: “My love, I bow to your last journey. Hand in hand and in my arms you left me today at 5.50 p.m. at home in peace,” she wrote on Tuesday evening. Weller started his boxing career in the 1960s and became one of the most prominent athletes in Germany, which was also due to his glamorous appearances, where he liked to present himself as a playboy. At the same time, he always had a criminal streak, which earned him a prison sentence in the late 1990s. After that, he used his prominence for appearances on various TV shows and for show fights. In 2014 he was diagnosed with dementia. Most recently he was a nursing case.
