“After having passed medical examinations and consulted in particular hamstring specialists, it turns out that I have a partial rupture of the tendon. The decision to end the season was therefore the right one to avoid aggravating the situation. Now, the next step will be an operation in September to reattach the tendon to its base and start again on a healthy basis, ”writes Lavillenie on his social networks.
The 2012 Olympic champion, aged 36, therefore sees a new obstacle standing between him and the Paris Olympics in 2024.
