Regensburg: Two dead – investigators assume an act of violence – Bavaria

After a dead man and a dead woman were found in Regensburg on Friday, investigators are assuming a violent crime. The dead 43-year-old was “most likely” the wife of a 45-year-old who was also found dead, a police spokeswoman said. After the man was found, officials discovered the 43-year-old lifeless at his home address.

There they also found two children aged two and seven. Investigators were initially unable to say with certainty whether they had witnessed their mother’s death. The two children were cared for with the help of a crisis intervention team. The youth welfare office will take care of the two later.

According to initial investigations, the man jumped from a bridge onto the highway and died. The police announced on Friday that the connection between the two deaths is currently being determined. Initially, there was no evidence that third parties were involved. Due to the investigation, the A3 motorway near Regensburg in the direction of Passau was closed. A police spokeswoman was unable to say early Friday afternoon how long the closure would last.
