Regensburg: Supermarket must be cleared of influencer advertising – Bavaria

A surprisingly large crowd at an advertising campaign in Regensburg’s main train station has led to the evacuation of a supermarket. Around 1,200 instead of the expected maximum of 300 guests came to the product presentation, which was also advertised by influencers, as the federal police announced on Sunday.

Almost two hours before the planned start, around 400 people were waiting in the supermarket and in the station waiting room – including “children who were already pressed against the walls of the supermarket in the dense crowd”. The federal police therefore decided to evacuate. According to the police, nobody was injured except for a 14-year-old with a bloody lip, who was punched by a peer during an argument.

According to the information, the organizers had expected 200 to 300 guests at the advertising event for chocolate products. “The participants in the event had to be reminded of peace and order by means of loudspeaker announcements. Due to the continuing interest in the event, there were always crowds and individual attempts to break through the barriers,” said the federal police.

The organizers broke off the four-hour campaign after half an hour. The influencers also left. The visitors then left the event in the direction of the city center, it said. Almost two hours later, around 200 young people gathered again at the main station, but kept quiet.
