A person died in a rear-end collision with three trucks on Autobahn 3 in the Regensburg district. A driver was seriously injured on Wednesday morning, police said. A truck also caught fire and burned out.
The accident happened shortly before the Wörth an der Donau/Wiesent junction in the direction of Passau. Further details were initially unclear. The police blocked the highway between the Rosenhof and Wiesent junctions in both directions.
There are significant traffic delays, it said. The police, fire brigade and rescue service were also on site with a large contingent.
