Jochen Schuppener himself was surprised by the frustration that was gradually building up in him. Initially, the brutal images of war made the 56-year-old and his family want to help refugees from Ukraine. In early March, they rearranged the study on the first floor of their house. A short time later three children, their mother and grandmother moved in there. The Schuppeners spent a lot of time filling out applications for the family, organizing places in a school and making life as pleasant as possible for the Ukrainians in Kaufering in Upper Bavaria.
