Refuge of the star, the town of Lannilis will pay tribute to him

She had taken refuge there for twenty years, spending part of the year in her house by the sea. Since the announcement of the death of Jane Birkin on Sunday at the age of 76, the town of Lannilis in North Finistère has been in mourning.

In a message posted on his website, the Breton municipality paid tribute “to a great lady of simplicity, discretion and authenticity. “It was this simplicity, this tranquility that Jane Birkin appreciated at Lannilis: she was herself, undisturbed by her fame, she was not a star but quite simply Jane Birkin, going about her business or going shopping. »

To pay tribute to the “lady”, a ceremony will take place Monday morning in the town, at the same time as the funeral of the singer which will take place in the Saint-Roch church in Paris. A giant screen will be installed for the occasion to allow the crowd to attend.
