Comedy is now the most watched Netflix movie
The records keep falling: “Red Notice” – starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot – is now the most watched film on Netflix.
The Netflix movie “Red Notice” broke the next record. As the streaming service announced, the action comedy with Dwayne Johnson (49), Ryan Reynolds (45) and Gal Gadot (36) in the leading roles is now the most-watched film on the portal to date. With now 328.8 million viewing hours, he pulverized the previous record of Sandra Bullock’s “Bird Box” from 2018 with 282 million hours. Johnson confirmed this himself via Twitter.
50 percent of all Netflix users would have seen the film. Particularly noteworthy: “Red Notice” has only been available for 18 days, “Bird Box” took around four weeks to get to the top. “Red Notice” also broke the record for the best Netflix start.
“Red Notice” may become a film series
The Netflix in-house production tells the story of an FBI profiler (Johnson) who has to team up with an art thief (Reynolds) in order to hunt down the world’s most wanted criminal (Gadot). Director Rawson Marshall Thurber (48) revealed in an interview with the “Hollywood Reporter”: “Red Notice” may become a whole series of films, several successors are already being considered.
