Summer, sun, cocktail – or how was that? Get the holiday in your glass with these two simple blueberry drinks. The refreshment for hot days works with and without alcohol.

Off to the hammock, sun on your nose and a delicious cocktail in your hand – that’s what summer tastes like. Refreshing, fruity and light, this is the perfect combination in a glass for a little break in between. A good drink is like a short vacation. And that’s how Harald Juhncke once defined happiness: “No appointments and easy sitting”.

Alcohol can, but of course does not have to. After all, such a drink can quickly knock you off your feet in the heat. Here we present two cocktail variants that you should definitely try once this summer. One comes without alcohol and is actually a lemonade, the other calls for a shot of vodka

Blueberries provide the special kick, because the forest fruits are extremely aromatic, but not too sweet. In the trio with lime and mint, the superfood berries are a guarantee for hot days and, with their many vitamins, also provide a good energy boost.

Blueberry Lime Lemonade

The interplay of the acidity of a lime and fresh blueberries makes this lemonade an intense refreshment drink for hot days.

That comes in

400 grams of blueberries
2 limes untreated limes/also works with grapefruit
1 L water (sparkling or still)
honey
mint (garnish)
ice cubes

That’s how it’s done

Squeeze a lime and mix with about 300 grams of blueberries. Then add a liter of water and let it steep overnight. Strain the liquid through a fine sieve the next day. Add a little honey to sweeten if needed. Fill the glass with ice cubes, add a few berries and top up with the lemonade. Decorated with a wheel of lime and a stick of mint.
