The “children’s” manufacturer Ferrero recalled numerous well-known products shortly before Easter. The reason: risk of salmonella. Now it hits the next chocolate manufacturer. According to the official press release, the wholesaler “Danel Feinkost” is recalling several products from the manufacturer Strauss-Elite “due to an existing health hazard”. Which brands are affected by the Salmonella alert?

This is the second major chocolate recall this year due to salmonella

According to the Bavarian wholesaler for kosher specialties, “several samples with salmonella were found in the production line” and in the raw chocolate during a routine test in the Strauss-Elite chocolate factory in Israel. Consumers are therefore asked not to consume the affected products.

But what to do if the salmonella chocolate has already been eaten? First of all, keep calm and pay attention to the symptoms. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), a salmonella disease shows up within a few days with diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting as well as a slight fever. Normally, however, the symptoms subside again.

Young children or older adults could also develop a more severe course of the disease. It was only at the beginning of April that the confectionery manufacturer Ferrero had to stop production in a factory in Belgium for the time being due to salmonella cases in several countries.
