Real wins 2-1 in Barcelona: Bellingham turns the Clásico sport

Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid to win the Clásico. The former Dortmund player, who has been in impressive form for weeks, scored twice (68th/90th+2) in the Spanish football record champions’ 2-1 (0-1) win over arch-rivals FC Barcelona. DFB captain Ilkay Gündogan had put the defending champions in the lead (6th). Thanks to the success, Real maintained first place with 28 points ahead of the surprise team FC Girona, who had the same number of points. Barca (24) initially follows in third place.

Barcelona got off to the perfect start, Gündogan took advantage of the first opportunity. The hosts then had the game under control and barely allowed Real’s offensive to develop. A long-range shot from Antonio Rüdiger (22′) remained the guests’ most dangerous action for a long time. Barca, however, were unlucky when Fermin Lopez shot against the post (16′).

After the change, Madrid increased the pressure. World champion Toni Kroos failed because of national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen (57th). Bellingham’s equalizer was deserved. On the other hand, Robert Lewandowski, who came on after his injury break, missed the chance to take the lead again (79th), then Bellingham struck ice cold. It was the England international’s 13th goal in his 13th competitive game for the Royals.
