Real Madrid vs PSG: Karim Benzema now the oldest hat-trick goalscorer in Champions League history

Karim Benzema spectacularly promoted Real Madrid to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The Frenchman even set a new record.

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has become the oldest player (34 years and 80 days) to score a hat-trick in the Champions League since Wednesday’s 3-1 win in the second leg of the last 16 second leg against PSG.

The 34-year-old equalized 1-1 after a mistake by Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 61st minute, followed by a brace from the Frenchman. In the 76th and 78th minute, Real’s life insurance bought the quarter-final ticket.

Real thanks to Benzema for the fifth time in the last seven years in the CL quarterfinals

Ancelotti side’s outstanding second half sees Real in the Champions League quarter-finals for the fifth time in seven years. The Royals had lost the first leg in Paris 0-1, and in the second leg the Spanish record champions were initially behind after a goal from Kylian Mbappe.

However, the three-time Benzema then made the Bernabeu cheer. The top scorer has scored eight goals in the current Champions League season, only Robert Lewandowski (12 goals) and Sebastian Haller (11 goals) are ahead of him in the top scorer list.
