Eden Hazard also plays at Real Madrid in the 2022/23 season. Coach Carlo Ancelotti made that clear at the press conference before the Primera Division game in Cadiz. Recently there have been many Speculations about an early departure given by the Belgian.
“His plan is pretty clear: He’s staying – and with a lot of motivation, because the last few years haven’t gone well for him. He wants to show his quality, which he hasn’t been able to do before,” said master coach Ancelotti.
Eden Hazard: Only 65 competitive games for Real in three years
Hazard has made just 65 competitive appearances for Los Blancos since joining from Chelsea in 2019. Numerous injury problems made the 115 million euro man one of the biggest transfer flops in Real history. His contract, which runs until 2024, is said to guarantee him a net annual salary of 15 million euros.
Ancelotti also gave Hazard hope that he could get a lot of appearances next season. “A team at the level of Real Madrid has a lot of games to play. There are tired players, then there will be rotation,” explained the Real coach. “When the squad is complete, you can rotate more and everyone will have their chance,” said Ancelotti.
