Reading group to combat loneliness: 90-year-old founds book club

Since Hans knows that he will soon be giving up his psychotherapeutic practice, he has been worried about becoming lonely. With the help of his neighbors, he invited strangers to a reading group, with whom he now regularly discusses books.

Hans actually wanted to give up his psychotherapeutic practice in December, after more than 40 years. But the black couch is still in its place, and next to it are two armchairs for the patients who prefer to sit: Hans continues to work, a little longer. His fear of loneliness and the feeling of no longer being needed is great. No longer having a job to do. To no longer be challenged after teaching and writing books as a professor at a university for so many years. A concern that concerns many people who are about to retire or have just retired after a long working life.
