ZDF had changed its program and showed the quarter-finals of the Handball World Championship on Wednesday evening. The station thus won the ratings.

The thriller in the first was the strongest competition for the spectator magnet handball on Wednesday evening. The film “The Defender – The Song of the Raven” with Martina Gedeck, Gustav Schmidt and Jörg Witte attracted 5.00 million (17.2 percent) from 8.15 p.m. However, ARD was well behind ZDF, where the Handball World Cup came to 7.49 million (26.5 percent) from 8:52 p.m.

The RTL casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” wanted to see 2.17 million (7.6 percent). In the RTL late program from 10:15 p.m., 3.64 million (20.3 percent) watched the show “I’m a star – get me out of here!” – in the particularly sought after age group of 14 to 49 year olds it was 28.5 percent (1.26 million).

The ZDFneo crime drama repeat “Wilsberg” (the episode “Alles Lüge” from 2020) with Leonard Lansink, Rita Russek and Oliver Korittke reached 1.53 million (5.3 percent).

1.42 million (5.3 percent) spent the evening with the Sat.1 show “Das Große Promibacken”. The ProSieben comedy show “TV total” addressed 1.18 million (4.1 percent). 660,000 people (2.3 percent) watched the docu-soap “Die Retourenjäger” on RTLzwei.
