The opening game of the Bundesliga drew millions of football fans to their screens. Sat.1 won the ratings with the broadcast of the game.

The Bundesliga is back and Sat.1 broadcast the opening game again, which brought the private broadcaster the ratings win. On Friday evening, an average of 4.83 million people watched the first half of the football game Werder Bremen – Bayern Munich (0:4) (21.9 percent market share from 8.30 p.m.). The second half of the Bundesliga premiere of Bayern newcomer Harry Kane then even saw 5.86 million (27.3 percent from 9:35 p.m.).

But things went even better for Sat.1 in 2022: At that time, an average of 5.2 million people watched the first half and later 6.1 million saw the second half of Bayern’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt (6: 1).

The ZDF Friday thrillers were relegated to second place this time in prime time: “A case for two” (episode “The wrong snake” from 2021) switched on 3.33 million (15.4 percent) from 8:15 p.m. and “Last trace Berlin” from 9.15 p.m. then 3.06 million (13.7 percent for the episode “Weißer Wahn” from 2021).

The ARD romantic comedy “Love is unpredictable” from 2020 with Heino Ferch and Tanja Wedhorn reached 2.86 million (13.0 percent from 8.15 p.m.), the action thriller “James Bond 007 – In the face of death” with Roger Moore, Christopher Walken and Grace Jones from 1985 around 1.03 million (5.0 percent).

They were followed by RTL and the show “Top Dog Germany – The Best Dog in Germany: Best-of” (with 930,000 viewers; 4.3 percent), RTLzwei and the sci-fi drama “Planet der Affen – Prevolution” from 2011 (with 430,000 viewers; 2.0 percent) and Kabel Eins with the crime series “Criminal Minds” (410,000; 1.9 percent) and Vox with the docu-soap “Where the love falls down – every couple is different” (400,000; 1.8 Percent).
