Eintracht Frankfurt battled West Ham United for a place in the Europa League final. An audience of millions watched the game on the screens.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s 1-0 win over West Ham United was the biggest ratings hit on German television on Thursday evening.

From 9:00 p.m. on average, 6.25 million fans (24.5 percent) watched RTL as the Bundesliga soccer team made it into the final of the Europa League in the second leg of the semi-final.

The “Barcelona thriller” was also successful in the first. In the episode “The Longest Day”, investigators Xavi Bonet (Clemens Schick) and Fina Valent (Anne Schäfer) had to deal with a child murderer. 4.88 million (17.8 percent) tuned in from 8:15 p.m. The ZDF medical series “Doktor Ballouz” with Merab Ninidze and Julia Richter attracted 3.42 million (12.8 percent).

ProSieben broadcast the casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model – by Heidi Klum” and reached 1.83 million (7.4 percent). The US comic adaptation “Avengers: Age of Ultron” starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo ran on Vox. 1.07 million (4.2 percent) spent the evening with this.

For the Sat.1 cooking show «Fridge open! – The Duel of the Cooking Professionals» decided 920,000 people (3.4 percent). Kabel eins had the reality documentary “One talks about money!” to offer, but 620,000 people (2.3 percent) warmed up.

600,000 men and women (2.2 percent) watched the RTLzwei health documentary “Fat Germany – Our Life with Overweight”. The American crime series “Monk” with Tony Shalhoub and Ted Levine had 290,000 viewers (1.1 percent) on ZDFneo.
