As reported Variety this weekend, Travis Scott will not perform at Coachella in the spring of 2022. It is clarified that the festival has not commented for the moment, it is therefore impossible to know if it is a decision of the organization or the artist himself. Nevertheless, according to the site, the rapper’s agent, Cara Lewis, would have been informed of this cancellation plan several weeks ago.
This deprogramming comes nearly a month after the tragedy that occurred during the Astroworld festival in Florida in early November. Ten people died in a crowd movement during a Travis Scott concert, and several hundred spectators had to be rescued.
A petition in favor of the deprogramming of the artist
Variety explains that a petition had been launched on Change.org after this tragedy, in order to request the deprogramming of Travis Scott of Coachella. She had collected more than 60,000 signatures. After Astroworld, nearly 300 complaints were filed, some of which directly point to the artist’s responsibility.
