There’s a new album. According to Casper himself, this surprised him. There is one more announcement – for a single concert.

Rapper Casper has announced a new album and only accompanying concert for 2024. “I’m very afraid that it might be the last concert,” said the artist in an interview with the German Press Agency in Bielefeld.

The concert is scheduled to take place in Bielefeld next year. That’s “the place that maybe means the most to me. That’s why people should come here,” said Casper, aka Benjamin Griffey. The artist moved to Bielefeld for his studies, and music later brought him to Berlin, where he still lives today.

The album “nur Liebe, immer” is due to be released on November 24 and was “created very differently than usual”. Normally, the 40-year-old “approaches albums with a lot of advance notice and is more concept-based”. Only last year he had released an album, before that he had not released a solo album for five years. “I was surprised that the album came out so quickly,” said the rapper.

It is also something special musically, he has experimented a lot in the production and rediscovered himself. “I’m not only loud, I’m also quiet. I’m not only rap, I can also sing,” says Casper. The single “Emma” released on Thursday gives a first foretaste.

The artist remained unspecific about his further musical future. “I’m going to put this record out now and then I’ll play the concert and then I’ll just see what’s going on,” he said.
