Rapper Booba indicted for “harassment” and banned from contacting Magali Berdah

In a video broadcast this Monday morning on social networks, rapper Booba explained to his audience that he had just come out of an interrogation by a Parisian investigating judge. “I am leaving the court, questioned about death threats, cyberstalking and concealment of property,” said the 46-year-old rapper, whose real name is Élie Yaffa, in a video this Monday at noon. “As you see I am free, everything is fine. Piracy is never over. »

According to our information, however, it was weighed down by an infamous indictment that the Duke of Boulogne emerged from this interrogation. According to consistent sources, the 46-year-old singer was thus prosecuted for “harassment” against Magali Berdah. He was also placed under the status of assisted witness to the facts of death threats and receiving stolen property. From the same source, the rapper is placed under judicial supervision and is notably prohibited from contacting Magali Berdah, by any means whatsoever, in particular through publications on social networks.

On a crusade against “influvoleurs”

More than a year ago, Booba launched a crusade on social networks against those he called “influvoleurs”, accusing them of multiple scams targeting Internet users. Among his targets, he notably counts Magali Berdah, manager of the Shauna Events agency, responsible for managing partnerships – sometimes considered dubious – between brands and influencers from reality TV.

In the wake of virulent tweets, Magali Berdah filed a first complaint, followed by dozens of others. The National Center for the Fight against Online Hate (PNLH) of the Paris public prosecutor’s office has been carrying out investigations since June 2022. Booba had already been summoned in this context, without showing up. The investigations were then entrusted to an investigating judge in the summer of 2023, who summoned the rapper again. Furthermore, 28 people will be tried before the Paris criminal court in November, December and January for aggravated cyberstalking, death threats or even threats of crime against Magali Berdah.

Booba also filed a complaint against

Contacted, the lawyers of Magali Berdah, Mes Antonin Gravelin-Rodriguez, Rachel-Flore Pardo and David-Olivier Kaminski reacted in a press release sent to Le Parisien. The three criminal lawyers note that “the rapper Elie Yaffa, better known as Booba, was indicted and placed under strict judicial supervision following the cyberharassment of which Magali Berdah has been a victim since May 2022”. They emphasize that “this decision, awaited for months, is a huge victory for Magali Berdah. It also constitutes a powerful signal addressed to all the servants of hatred who operate under pseudonyms on social networks. (…) Ms. Berdah had the courage to fight on behalf of all the victims who suffer in silence, alone behind their screen. Justice will be served. We will see to it. » “We will explain ourselves in court when the time comes,” also notes Me Berton, the other lawyer of the popess of influencers.
