Rally on Sunday in Munich: Many cyclists on the road – Munich

There are thousands of cyclists, so many that they only make slow progress on the Mittlerer Ring, just like drivers in rush-hour traffic. However, they are not annoyed, but in a good mood. They ring, some even have music with them. On Sunday afternoon, numerous streets in Munich are closed to cars and are only available to cyclists. Also the middle ring at Luise-Kiesselbach-Platz.

The ADFC cycling club wants to draw attention to the “Bavarian cycling decision” with a rally: cyclists are flocking to Munich from Wolfratshausen, Weßling and Augsburg to support improvements for two-wheelers – from safer lanes for cyclists to making it easier to take bicycles on public transport. The Munich police estimate that 17,000 cyclists take part in the rally.

Part of the A96 is also closed for an hour in the afternoon. Heading into town, it is diverted at the Gräfelfing exit, heading out of town the ascent is only possible from Blumenau.
