Rain of fines and license withdrawals at a reggae festival near Nantes

Not everyone was in a condition to take the car. This weekend, in Joué-sur-Erdre near Nantes, the gendarmes of Loire-Atlantique closely followed the 30,000 festival-goers of the Dubcamp festivala European-scale musical event dedicated to the sound-system movement and reggae culture, which took place over four days.

In total, 37 driving licenses “were withdrawn on the spot”, for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, reports this Tuesday the prefecture of Loire-Atlantique. Some 280 criminal fixed fines for possession of narcotics were also drawn up by the departmental road safety squadron and the Ancenis gendarmerie company.

Four people were arrested and placed in police custody for drug trafficking, continues the prefecture. According to the newspaper West France“twenty-seven pouches of grass and cannabis each containing 500 grams of product were found in their possession, as well as cocaine packaged in small packages and nearly 3,000 euros in cash”.
