The leader of the Tunisian Islamo-conservative Ennahdha movement, Rached Ghannouchi, one of the main opponents of President Kais Saied, was arrested on Monday, his party said.
Ghannouchi, who headed the dissolved parliament in July 2021 in a coup by Saied, was arrested by a police force at his home in Tunis and “drove to an unknown location”, Ennahdha said in a statement.
