Quencher trend: What can Stanley’s popular thermal mug do?

Anyone who is active on Tiktok has noticed one thing for a long time: Hip, young people who drink from large thermo mugs with the inscription “Stanley”. Ours wanted what it was all about and what makes the mug so special star-Editor know. your test.

Admittedly, I feel too old for Tiktok. I only discover the hottest trends when they have arrived on Instagram. And then I have to hear from my little sister that I’m totally late to the party – a hip expression for “being late for something”. Media reports have now drawn my attention to a curious Tiktok trend: young, cool people publish videos in which they drink from large, pastel-colored cups. “Stanley” is printed on it. Why the hype, I wonder.

Quencher Trend: This is what the Tiktok cup costs

I googled it quickly and found the said Tiktok videos under the hashtag “Stanley Quencher”. Owners pose proudly in front of the camera or film how they take the drinking vessel out of the box – unboxing. However, one thing really knocks my socks off during my research: the mug costs around 70 euros – a proud price for a thermal mug, I think. I want to know what’s so great about it and let me have the cup Quencher H2.0 flow state to send. When I receive and open the package after about a week, I am surprised. The Stanley cup is bigger than I thought. The drinking vessel has a capacity of 1183 milliliters and thus looks more like a particularly sweet, modern goblet than a casual thermal mug. However, there is also smaller cups with a capacity of 400, 567 or 850 milliliters.

The Quencher H2.0 Flowstate cup is made from 90 percent recycled stainless steel. By using recycled materials, the manufacturer wants to contribute to reducing the ecological footprint. I see a recycling symbol on the inside bottom of the cup. Stanley is also committed to eco-friendly packaging and the use of renewable energy in production. Maybe the reason for the hype?

Possible reasons for the Tiktok hype

I like the design – especially the color. Before ordering, I had a hard time deciding on one. There is a large selection: from light cream tones to colorful pastel tones to dark gray or black, everything is included. I chose the popular classic “Rose Quartz”, a pale pink. The material is pleasant to the touch. The optics are matt.

The cup is a little narrower at the bottom – so it can be placed in conventional cup holders. Further up, the cup is wider. My Stanley mug also has a handle – you can get one without one. At the opening there is a screw cap with a slide closure for the straw. This makes drinking from the giant vessel very pleasant.

Quencher trend: testing the Stanley cup

The Stanley cup performed well in the practical test. The only drawback: It is not completely tight. When I take out the straw, close the hole with the sliding flap and hold the cup upside down, it drips out. As far as the durability of the cold is concerned, the manufacturer does not promise too much: drinks are hot for up to twelve hours or cold for up to 16 hours, making it ideal for on the go or for outdoor activities.

I will continue to use the Stanley mug in the future. It is particularly suitable for sports in the gym. For a proud 70 euros, however, I expected that the cup would be securely closed and that I could put it in my pocket without hesitation – so unfortunately it is only suitable for transport when empty.
