King Frederik and Queen Mary continued their state visit to Norway – with a hiking tour with the Crown Prince couple.

Day two of the state visit by King Frederik of Denmark (55) and Queen Mary (52) to Norway. After the newly crowned queen outshined everyone the evening before at the gala dinner in Oslo on the occasion of her 20th wedding anniversary, the royal couple went on Wednesday (May 15th) with the crown prince couple Haakon of Norway (50) and wife Mette-Marit (50). on a more down-to-earth hiking tour, as Norwegian media reports. The close friends of the royals then posed for an enchanting group photo in front of a picturesque natural backdrop in Østmarka National Park.

Relaxing hiking tour in picturesque nature

Mette-Marit and Haakon are considered good friends of King Frederik and his wife. The two couples have already spent a heir to the throne weekend together in the past. They also sponsored each other’s children. This harmony between the royal families of Norway and Denmark was also evident on today’s hiking trip.

Frederik, Mary, Mette-Marit and Haakon arrived very close to the people by subway for their day in nature, as can be seen in a video shared on Instagram. The Queen and Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore almost identical outfits. Both relied on down jackets as well as hiking pants and dynamic sports shoes. Their husbands were also dressed almost identically with checked shirts and hiking pants.

On their hiking tour, the royals took a break at a lake. Crown Prince Haakon personally handed out drinks to the small hiking group at the viewing point before the Norwegian and Danish royal couples posed for a group photo together. Mary and Mette-Marit especially seemed to enjoy the time in nature. The Queen and the Crown Princess obviously got along very well, joking and laughing together.

Meeting of the Kings in Oslo

During the state visit to Norway, the two kings Frederik and Harald will meet for the first time since the Danish monarch ascended the throne after the abdication of his mother Margrethe II (84) on January 14th. At the beginning of May, Frederik and Mary were on a two-day state visit to Sweden, where they were received by King Carl Gustaf (78) and Queen Silvia (80).
